A couple and their two children, belonging to Vadlamannadu village of Gudlavalleru mandal, went to the beach for an outing, Machilipatnam Rural Sub Inspector V Srinivas said.
All of them entered into the sea for bathing but were pulled in by the waves and stared drowning, he said.
While the parents were rescued by a group of photographers visiting the beach, the two kids drowned, the police officer said.
Their bodies were later washed ashore, he said.
The deceased were identified as M Sandeep and his sister M Vidhya, who were in mid-teens, Srinivas said.
