Two sisters were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their house in Jachaunda village here even as their family alleged their in-laws killed them after they failed to meet their dowry demands, police said today.
The bodies of Maharani (24) and Jairani (23) were yesterday found hanging from the ceiling of their house, SP, Mathura, Alok Priyadarshi said.
They had got married to two brothers Rajpal and Raju last year.
In a complaint, the family of the deceased alleged the women's in-laws were harassing them for dowry.
A case has been registered against the brother duo, their mother and four others under sections 498A (subjecting woman to cruelty) and 304B (dowry death) of IPC, he said.
Police have initiated a probe into the matter and efforts are on to nab the accused who are at large, the SSP said.
