Two smugglers arrested, 39 bovine rescued in J-K

Two persons have been arrested for smuggling bovines and 39 cattle were rescued from their possession in two separate incidents in Samba district and here, police said today.
In the first incident, a bovine smuggler, identified as Mohammad Rafiq, was arrested when he was trying to smuggle 33 bovine animals into Punjab from Khangwala village in Samba district yesterday, police said.
In another incident, Mohammad Benia was nabbed and six bovine animals were rescued from his possession in Domana area of the Jammu district yesterday, they said.
The accused failed to give a satisfactory answer when questioned and was arrested by the police on the spot, they said.
A case has been registered against both the accused relevant sections and further investigations are underway, police said.
