Two youths who allegedly used to snatch chains and hand-bags from morning walkers have been arrested, police said here today.
Sunil alias Sanno(24) and Vinay(28) were arrested from Punjabi Bagh at around midnight by a patrolling party in that area. Cops managed to arrest them after a small chase, police said
According to the police, the accused used a Pulsar motorcycle owned by their associate Monu for chain-snatching. They have also committed chain and bag snatching crimes in the West and adjoining districts before.
"Both of them are already wanted in different cases and Sunil is an active member of Anil and Rinku Gang which was busted earlier last month," a senior police official said.
"The duo disclosed that they used to assemble with their team members in early morning and targeted people who usually went for morning walks. After committing a crime they used to flee to their native village in Alwar district of Rajastan," he said.
Vinay was earlier sent to Tihar jail for six years in 2006 after he was arrested under MCOCA Act, police said.
