Two persons were killed by a gang
of five men in suburban Santacruz today, police said.
The incident occurred in evening when the unidentified assailants armed with chopper and knife arrived at a construction site and attacked the duo.
The deceased, identified as Nadeem Khatri and Mohhamed Ullah, were stabbed twelve to thirteen times each with chopper, a police official said.
Police suspect that the murder was the handiwork of a local gang of criminals.
However, the motive behind the killing is not known yet.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem, the official said, adding further investigation is on.
