Two stolen gadgets traders held

Two persons, accused of trading stolen gadgets, have been arrested after the police allegedly recovered around 250 such mobile phones among other electronic goods from their possession.
One of the accused Satender Pratap Singh was arrested from his house in Chhattarpur Extension area by a special police team which was formed to curb incidents of missing gadgets, a senior official said.
249 stolen mobile phones, 15 mobile phone chargers, 19 laptops, 105 laptop chargers, 30 laptop bags, 9 iPads/Tablets and 24 mother boards of iPhones have been recovered, said Ishwar Singh, deputy commissioner of police (South).
During interrogation Singh (38) led the police to another accused Chandan Makkar, a resident of Mukhtsar in Punjab, said the officer.
While Singh was arrested on 11 March from Chattarpur, his accomplice Chandan Makkar (21) was arrested on 15 March from Mukhtsar.
During interrogation Makkar revealed that he owns a mobile shop in Sadar area of Mukhtsar which he has been running for the last three years, the DCP said.

Makkar told police that he used to come to Delhi's Gaffar Market, a popular electronics markets in Karol Bagh, to purchase mobile phones and met Singh who lured him to buy the stolen mobile phones, said the senior policeman.
"Makkar also roped other persons including one Anmol alias Kaku and Gulshan who used to change the IMEI numbers of the stolen mobile phones," said the officer.
International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) is a unique number given to every mobile phone set.
Efforts are on to nab other accused who are at large, he added.
