Two students of an engineering college were today arrested for allegedly leaking an Algebra paper of the Savitribai Phule Pune University, officials of the cyber police here said.
Police said that Nashik residents Adesh Chopade (21) and Chinmay Atravhalkar (22), studying in the second and fourth year of the Information Technology stream at a local engineering college, were arrested today.
The two students are accused of leaking the Algebra paper set for a Second Year Bachelor of Science examination, police said.
They were produced before a local court today which remanded them in police custody for three days, the official said.
"After an internal inquiry by Pune University officials, a complaint was filed on Sunday by Yogesh Sonar, an official of the University's Nashik centre, against the two students following which they were arrested," the official said.
The official said that investigations were underway to find out how the two students got their hands on the paper by apparently accessing, without authorisation, a section of the University's website meant for professors.
He said that a case had been registered against the them under relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.
