Two turbines in 800 MW Kol Dam project stop functioning

National Thermal Power Corporation is finding it difficult to start production in 800 MW Kol Dam project, situated on the border of District Mandi and Bilaspur, as two turbines out of three are not functioning since last three days.
In order to produce electricity, four turbines, each of 200 MW, have been installed in the powerhouse.
Out of these four machines, three have been tested successfully in trial run, according to the Kol Dam project spokesperson.
The first two machines were tested in April and the third machine was tested in the second week of May, the work for testing the fourth machine is still going on and it would start functioning by first week of June.
