Two tusks worth Rs nine lakh seized, three arrested

Three persons were arrested today and two tusks worth Rs nine lakh seized from their possession in the city, police said.
During a vehicle check near Vellalore, police nabbed the trio on a two wheeler and on a search found the tusks, weighing about 10 kg.
The arrested were identified as Saleem of the city, Abdul Rahman from Madhuranthakam and Jaimohan of Salem, they said.
Further interrogation was on to find out the sources of the tusks, which were handed over to the Forest department, police said.
