Two labourers hailing from Uttar Pradesh were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Jehanabad district of Bihar today early morning.
Jehanabad Superintendent of Police Aditya Kumar said, "The two labourers were working at a brick kiln. According to our information, three men carrying rifles arrived there and shot them dead. We have lodged an FIR against unidentified persons. Investigations are going on to trace them and find out the motive behind the killing."
Ghoshi Station House Officer (SHO) Abhay Kumar said the twin murders could be fallout of enmity of some people with the brick kiln owner.
The incident took place at Madanpur village under Ghoshi police station, about 55 km from Patna.
The deceased have been identified as Mohan Kumar and Vijay Lal. Both are residents of Rakswara village under Karari police station in Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh.
"Eyewitness said the three gunmen came and enquired about the whereabouts of the owner of the kiln. The people present there told them that he leaves the place by evening. The trio then pulled these two labourers aside and shot them dead," the SHO added.
