Burdwan third fast track judge Subashis Ghosh, who convicted the three yesterday, pronounced the quantum of punishment today.
According to prosecution, 32-year-old Hasanul Karim was murdered by the Wahid Ali, who was hired by Sabina Sabnam, sister-in-law of Hasanul, and her friend Selima Khatun in a car on February 10 last year.
Hasanul, a resident of Salar in Murshidabad district, had an illicit affair with Sabina. But when she wanted to get out of the relationship, he refused.
Sabina sought help from Selina who contacted Wahid through the customers of the tailoring shop she owned. Hasanul was called by Sabina on the pretext of a trip to Santiniketan and was killed with a nylon rope in a hired car.
The car driver had watched the murder throught the glasses of the car got down on a pretext and contacted the owner of the car who informed the police and the three were arrested.
