Two women Food inspectors caught accepting bribes

Two women inspectors, posted with the Food and Agriculture Department, were today caught red-handed by the Lokayukta police while accepting bribe from two separate people.
Food Inspector Sarika Dube was caught red-handed at her residence here by Lokayukta sleuths while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a trader Ramesh Sahu for clearing his sample of lentils, official sources said.
In the second incident, Food Inspector Geeta Kevat, posted at the Krishi Upaj Mandi was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 16,000 from trader Mohammad Shamim for granting him a trader's licence, they said.
A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the two officials.
