With almost all members of the opposition bench suspended from the ongoing monsoon session of Haryana Assembly, two women legislators today held the fort for a brief period before staging a walkout from the House.
BJP MLA from Sonepat Kavita Jain and Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) legislator Renuka Bishnoi today took on the government over several issues including corruption and suspension of opposition MLAs.
Kavita demanded that the Speaker call back the suspended members and remained adamant on ordering a probe into video clips released by opposition INLD, showing some ruling Congress legislators and their relatives allegedly seeking graft for getting the Change of Land Use done.
Responding to Jain, Speaker Kuldeep Sharma said, "If they promise to behave in the House and apologise for their misconduct, not to me, but to the House and people of Haryana, then I will allow them."
The Speaker told the remaining opposition members in the House that they could raise any issue during Zero Hour and urged them not to disrupt the session.
Besides these two, Ganshyam Saraf of BJP was only member in the opposition bench.

Kavita, who was on her feet, launched a scathing attack on the government, alleging that people have lost faith in it.
Renuka and Saraf also joined her and soon the three moved towards the Well, where they raised slogans against the government.
Renuka, an MLA from Adampur, also attacked the government for "denying" her a laptop, which all MLAs are entitled to, saying her repeated requests in this regard "have been ignored".
The Speaker said he would look into it and ensure that she gets a laptop at the earliest.
Parliamentary Affairs minister Randeep Singh Surjewala asked Kavita to give a complaint in writing if she felt there was any wrong doing by Congress MLAs or their relatives as alleged by INLD in the CDs.
Surjewala also told her that the government was ready to probe the matter, but Kavita and the other two MLAs staged a walkout from the House.
Barring four MLAs, virtually the entire opposition -- 28 of INLD and one of BJP -- were suspended by the Speaker on Friday for the remainder of the monsoon session for "unruly behaviour".
