Two women run over by speeding dumper; driver arrested

Two women, including a nonagenarian, were mowed down by a speeding dumper here after the driver lost control over the vehicle, police said today.
The mishap took place last night when Shanti Mangal Mishra (90) and Basanti Devi Lohsingh (50) were sitting and chatting on a roadside bench after their evening walk, they said.
The speeding dumper hit the two women, who died on the spot. The vehicle was returning after emptying construction material at a nearby building site when the accident took place.
The driver of the dumper Raju Ashok Pawar, 26 , was nabbed by locals and handed over to the Kapurbawdi police.

He has been charged under various sections of the IPC and Motor Vehicle Act, police said.
