Two youths killed as their speeding car crashes in Delhi

Two youths were killed and four were injured when their speeding car crashed on the Mayur Vihar-Noida link road in East Delhi while they were returning after a birthday party in Noida, police said today.
The deceased have been identified as Vishal and Ujjwal. The other four occupants of the car are recuperating at different hospitals and two of them are said to be critical, they said.
"The incident took place late last night when the six friends were coming from Noida to Delhi in their WagonR car driven by Samarth (18). As they crossed the Mayur Vihar flyover, Samarth lost control over the car which rammed into a divider and went into the opposite carriageway were it was hit by a Swift Dzire car," said a police official.
The occupants of the Swift Dzire car, which included a child, escaped with minor injuries, he said.
The incident took place around 11:15 pm and the police were informed by a passerby around 11:32 pm.
There were six young boys in the car and all of them had sustained injures. They were rushed to nearby hospitals were two of them --Vishal and Ujjwal-- were declared brought dead, he said.

A major traffic jam was caused on the route due to the crash. However, a major incident was averted as the WagonR car, which was fitted with CNG kit, did not catch fire. The fire could have engulfed other vehicles, they said.
A case of rash and negligent driving causing death has been registered at Pandav Nagar police station. Further investigations are underway, police said.
