Athva-lines police station's inspector Aniruddh Captain said all the youths involved in the case were residents of the same area.
"Shahnawaz and his friend Sohail Patel (23) decided last night to race in Piplod area after wagering a bet. Shahnawaz lost the race and got into a fight with Sohail," said inspector Captain.
"Shahnawaz, who could not digest his defeat, later went to Sohail's house with some friends and picked a fight afresh. He stabbed Sohail, who died on the spot, and fled. Sohail's friends chased and nabbed Faiyaz Qureshi, one of Shahnawaz's friends.
Police were looking for culprits in both the cases. No arrest had been made yet.
