Uttarakhand Governor K K Paul today honoured 34 students, who performed well in class 10th and 12th examinations of the Uttarakhand Board this year, with the Governor's Award and advised them to combine the qualities of passion, patience and persistence to achieve success in life.
Paul said the combination of the three Ps alone could drive them to success.
Noting that a good IQ may not always be enough, he stressed the importance of a good emotional quotient (EQ) which can keep their "morale high besides keeping them conscious of their social ambience".
Apart from giving the top three scorers of high school, intermediate and Madhyama and Uttar Madhyama in Sanskrit education Rs 7,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 in cash, he also gifted each of the awarded students a book based on the Prime Minister's Mann ki Baat.
He also advised them to develop the habit of reading books beyond the prescribed syllabus.
