A mob armed with sticks and rods attacked a big cat in Pipali Tok area of Almora district yesterday and beat it to death.
This is the second such incident in the hill state within a fortnight.
Meanwhile in another incident, a leopardess was knocked down by a speeding vehicle in Ramnagar area of Nainital district today.
