ShopGo, an online e-commerce solutions company, announced here that the e-commerce sector in the UAE is currently valued at USD 2.5 billion, representing 55 per cent of the total e-commerce market in the Gulf Cooperation Council.
"People are realising the potential of e-commerce and they are slowly gaining a better understanding of the needs of the business," Mohanad Ghashim, CEO of ShopGo, said yesterday.
"We utilise these workshops to provide those with an interest in the industry and potential projects with the right information and tools required to put their great ideas into practice," he said.
It discussed every step of the process, from creating the store online and promoting it to the basics of the logistics and payment methods.
The workshop showed a live demo to present EZStore, an initiative by the region's major e-commerce players ShopGo, Aramex, Google and PayPal to make it simpler for offline businesses to go online.
"Creating the right store is important, but promoting it is equally relevant to the business. One top tip we always give to our clients is to not forget to spare some of their budget for digital marketing, to boost awareness and sales on their online store," Ghashim said.
