Uber ramps up services in Chennai

Cab aggregator Uber has ramped up its services offered in the city by adding five new areas with effect on Monday

As per the new services, Uber would operate cabs in Vandalur, Guduvancherry, Kelambakkam, (SRM University) Potheri and upto Mahindra World City (Singaperumalkoil), a company statement said.

Uber which has been providing services till Perungalathur said the area between Perungalathur and Mahindra World City (Singapermalkoil), on the outskirts of Chennai, witnessed tremendous growth over the past few years with the presence of educational institutions, automobile manufacturing units.

"We launched Uber in Chennai more than two years ago, and this seemed like a natural step forward (on the expansion)," Uber India General Manager, South and West, Bhavik Rathod said.
