Uddhav Thackeray donates health van on his 55th birthday

Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray donated a a mobile van to the Wockhardt Foundation, which will provide free healthcare facilities to around 25,000 underprivileged people in the city, on the eve of his 55th birthday, which falls tomorrow, it was officially announced here today.
The van was inaugurated by Thackeray and Huzaifa Khorakiwala, who is the trustee and CEO of the Wockhardt Foundation.
The mobile healthcare van will be operated as well as managed by the Wochardt Foundation to provide primary healthcare to the needy.
"Through the van, we aim to make healthcare accessible to the needy. Wockhardt Foundation's Mobile 1000 health vans will provide free basic healthcare to 25,000 people in Mumbai. I am thankful to Thackeray for doing his bit through this initiative," Khorakiwala said while addressing a gathering on the sidelines of the van's launch.
He said that the GPS-equipped mobile health van, which is staffed by a doctor, a pharmacist and a driver would travel across villages conducting free health screening and providing free basic health services.
Mobile 1000, its flagship programme, aims at operating 1,000 mobile health vans in rural India to administer free primary healthcare.
