District Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde said Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray would soon take a final call on whether to join hands with the BJP in the current election for the Kalyam Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) polls to be held on November 1.
Only two days are left for the filing of nominations for the KDMC polls, which has a total of 122 seats.
Speaking while inaugurating the central election office of Shiv Sena at Kalyan, Shinde told reporters, the party was all set for the elections.
"Talks were still underway with the BJP and the verdict of Uddhav Thackeray will be final," he added.
Kalyan-Dombivali figures in the list of the ten cities from Maharashtra that will be developed as a 'Smart City' by the Centre.
"Kalyan would not have been selected for the Smart City category had it had not not been developed so far," Shinde said.
"Since the last 15 years, the ruling Shiv Sena had done a number of developmental works and there is no truth in the allegations made by MNS chief Raj Thackeray that Shiv Sena of not performing," he added.
