The Udhampur district administration is planning to enroll over five lakh persons in the National Food Security Act (NFSA) for providing ration to them on subsidized rates.

He said that the Udhampur Deputy Commissioner Shahid Iqbal Choudhary yesterday convened a meeting of officers of district coordination committee and rolled out enrollment process.
A dedicated Grievance Redressal Cell has been opened in DC Office where people can approach for any compliant or redressal of grievance; enrollment forms can also be requisitioned and enrollment schedule obtained.
He said that areas have been assigned to senior officers of district administration who have started extensive awareness and enrollment drive across the district.
The DC has appealed to the general public for ensuring 100 per cent enrollment of eligible families under National Food Security Act both under Below Poverty Line and Above Poverty Line categories and for approaching the grievance redressal cell in case of any shortfall or complaints.
For checking fair and transparent enrollment process, vigilance and monitoring squads have been constituted.
