UK police capture fugitive who escaped prison van

British police say they have captured a fugitive who escaped from a prison van during an ambush as it was taking him to court.
Police said officers arrested Ryan McDonald today during a raid at a house in Salford, near the city of Manchester.
The 20-year-old McDonald and another man were on their way to Manchester Crown Court from a prison on April 30 when three men attacked their van on a busy street and freed them.
McDonald was due to be sentenced for conspiracy to commit robbery when he escaped. The court sentenced him to seven years and 10 months in jail in his absence.

The other man who escaped, 31-year-old Stevie McMullen, was captured Sunday.
