"An MoU could be signed between the two sides during the visit of UK team, which would come at the invitation of the West Bengal government," state Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim told reporters here today after returning from a visit to London.
A UKTI team had earlier paid a three month visit to the city to survey urban regeneration and development.
He said the team had then found enough scope for urban regneration and development, beautification, use of water transport as a mode of communication, building up mono rail and townships.
The joint study with the UK team, which could be the blueprint for the rejuvenation of Kolkata's infrastructure, was released in London on Monday at a business meet organised by UK Trade and Investment and UK India Business Council.
Hakim said during his visit to London he met UK-based bankers and invited them to set up offices at Rajarhat, which is proposed to house the state's ambitious financial hub project.
Hakim said the proposed financial hub dominated discussions during his visit and he discussed with former London mayor Michael Bear ways to generate international interest in it.
