UKVV to stage dharna on Oct 31 on Mahadayi issue

Uttara Karnataka Vikas Vedike, a platform of farmers, Kannada and social forums, will stage a dharna in front of Suvarna Vidhan Soudha here on October 31 to protest against Karnataka government for allegedly not showing any interest on the Mahadayi issue.
UKVV convener Ashok Ningayya Pujari told reporters here that several elected representatives will also participate in the dharna.
He alleged that Karnataka government is not showing any interest on the Mahadayee issue while on the Cauvery row with Tamil Nadu, it rose to the occasion.
Both the Centre and state should give priority to Mahadayee issue, he said.
