Uncle and nephew run over by sand-laden lorry in Burdwan

Two persons on a motorbike were run over and killed by a sand laden truck at Galsi bazar in Burdwan district today, police said.
The victims belonged to the same family and were uncle and nephew, police said.
Prasanta Kundu (50) and his nephew Som Kundu (12), residents of Khano village, were on their way to Galsi bazar when they were hit and runover by a sand-laden truck, police said.
The two died on the spot, police said and added that the local people put up a blockade in protest but lifted it after a while.
