Organized by All India Football Federation, the tournament will be held in two phases, said Ravi Radhakrishnan, Chief, Aviation Services & Sports, Tata Steel.
Addressing a press conference here today, Radhakrishnan said while phase one Zonal round consisted of group matches (league system) of six zones, phase two will be final round to be played by 12 teams.
Altogether 36 teams will be taking part in the tournament across six zones including four teams of Rest of India Zone (Group B) at JRD Tata Sports complex here.
Those twelve teams will be divided into three groups and the group champions along with the 'Best Second Placed Team' will qualify for the semi-final which will be followed by the final to decide the U-18 I-League 2016-17 champions.
