Thirty-two children, fighting a battle to realise their dreams, today vied for top honours with their counterparts in elite schools at a quiz show by Hope Foundation.
These children are probably not as privileged as the kids of better known city schools but they have the same sparkle and zest for life, the Director of Hope Foundation, Geeta Venkadakrishnan said.
The Irish charitable organization, which stands for advocacy against child labour, plans to introduce these children to bigger international platform in future.
"Knowledge - the quiz involving kids from less privileged background under NGOs and tinytots from schools like Birla High - is the first step in our road map," Venkadakrishnan said.
Producer of award winning Bengali films Satrajit Sen, upcoming actor Bobby Chakraborty, theatre personality Ramanjit Kaur conducted the quiz aimed at initiating the street children to "life-skill knowledge".
