Unichem Lab shares surge 5.5% as Q3 net zooms

Shares of drug firm Unichem Laboratories today surged 5.5 per cent after it reported nearly ten-fold jump in standalone net profit for the quarter ended December 31.
The stock ended the day at Rs 240.60, up 5.46 per cent from its previous close on BSE. Intra-day, it soared 7.77 per cent to Rs 245.90.
At NSE, shares of the company jumped 5.47 per cent to close at Rs 240.70.
The company's market capitalisation rose by Rs 113.23 crore to Rs 2,185.23 crore.
Unichem Laboratories on Saturday reported nearly ten-fold jump in standalone net profit to Rs 20.54 crore for the quarter ended December 31, mainly on account of robust sales.

The company had posted a profit of Rs 2.06 crore for the October-December quarter of the previous fiscal, 2014-15, Unichem Laboratories had said in a BSE filing.
Standalone total income from operations of the company also rose to Rs 306.26 crore for the third quarter of 2015-16 as against Rs 265.85 crore in the year-ago period.
