Dharam Narayan was stabbed when he came out to open the door of his house at 4.30 AM yesterday in Shivpuri locality, they said.
The assailants stabbed Narayan in his abdomen and fled.
After seeing Narayan bleeding profusely, his wife raised an alarm after neighbours rushed to their house and rushed to him a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police suspect personal rivalry could be a reason behind the murder.
