Unidentified militant killed in encounter in J-K

An unidentified militant was today killed in an encounter with security forces in Kupwara district of north Kashmir.
Acting on a specific information about presence of militants, security forces launched a search operation in Warnav village of Lolab area in Kupwara this morning, a police officer said.
He said as the security forces were closing in on the positions of the ultras, they opened firing, which was retaliated.
"In the ensuing gunfight, one unidentified militant was killed," the officer said.
He said the operation was in progress to track down other militants.
