An unidentified Train Ticket Examiner and RPF jawans were today charged with culpable homicide in connection with the death of a youth on a train, police said.
The incident took place on October 4, when Abdul Hasib (24), who was travelling along with his relatives from Sikandarabad on a general category ticket in Rapti Sagar train, got down at Lucknow station to fetch water.
The train had started moving but he somehow managed to board the sleeper coach, police said.
As per the FIR lodged by his family members yesterday, Hasib was involved in a verbal duel with the TTE over the ticket who, in turn, called the RPF jawans and beat him up leading to his death, police said.
When the train had stopped in Gonda, the body was taken for postmortem examination in which injuries in the stomach and chest were stated to be the cause of death, police said.
A case of culpable homicide has been filed against unidentified TTE and RPF jawans, they said, adding, investigations have been handed over to GRP Barabanki.
