Addressing a function organised by the National Foundation for Communal Harmony at the National Police Memorial here, he said they all are providing security in the border areas.
"The uniform does not differentiate the security forces on the basis of religion," he said.
The programme was organised as part of activities being organised on the occasion of 'Communal Harmony Week' being observed from November 19-25, 2016.
Students from various schools representing different religious communities participated in the function, during which they presented various programmes including religious songs, speeches and patriotic songs.

He said in future each child will take different course in his life and will get an opportunity to serve the country.
The Minister asked the students that they should never get swayed by the appeals made by any group to divide them on the basis of religion, caste or region.
Rijiju said the students participating in the programme represent the student community of the country and it is very encouraging to see them here and termed it a 'harmonious gathering'.
