Central Government Standing Council Bhavani filed the order before Justice V Dhanapalan, who adjourned the matter to January 7 next year.

He had filed a plea to stay all the proceedings pending against him on the ground that being an IPS Officer governed by the All India Service Rules, sanction to prosecute him is required under Section 19 of the Act.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs today filed an order of rejection of sanction to prosecute him saying there was not enough evidence against him in the case.
