Union ministers to attend Modi govt's 1-year celebration in WB

The BJP has chalked up a week-long programme in West Bengal to celebrate the Narendra Modi government's one year in office, lining up three Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani and Babul Supriyo to attend a number of programmes.

The week-long celebration would start on May 25 with the Union Minister of State for Urban Development Babul Supriyo's public rally in Asansol, from where he was elected, BJP state president Rahul Sinha said here today.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to address a press conference on May 26, which will be followed by his public meeting at Satyanarayan Park in north Kolkata the same day, Sinha said.

On May 27, Union Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani is scheduled to address a rally at Kharagpur in West Midnapore district, besides visiting the IIT there, Sinha said.

Apart from this, processions would be taken out and meetings and other programmes would be held throughout the state in the presence of all state-level leaders, he said.
