Two motorcycle-borne masked gunmen today opened fire on a tourist bus and a hotel close to the Giza pyramids in Egypt, but the tourists escaped unhurt.
The militants used birdshot and targeted a group of tourists while entering the hotel on Al-Haram Street, the official said.
No casualties have been reported, however.
The attack only caused some damages to the bus and hotel gate and facade.
Security forces have launched a search for the attackers.
The attack on tourists came on a day when Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Christians were celebrating Christmas in the predominantly Muslim country.
