Speaking at an event here, RSS Joint Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale said the difference between the two countries was that Pakistan turned into a Muslim State and became a theocratic State while India never made the State on religious lines.
"We (India and Pakistan) have civilizational ties as the roots are the same. Culturally what is the difference between us and them? While we never made the State on religious lines, they did and turned into a theocratic State and that is why the cultural ties broke," he said at the function to launch "Pakistan Watch", a quarterly journal by Sangh-linked India Policy Foundation.
Hosabale said Pakistan is plagued by internal strifes and problems and that a "failed" State cannot stand for long.
The RSS leader said many other nations have come up after Second World War but in comparison to them, Pakistan cannot stand anywhere as it failed to develop institutions and its economy did not develop either.
"In the international world, what clout does Pakistan have as compared to India? Except in cricket, that too I feel .. they do not match up with India," he said.
