"We owe it to Netaji that the truth of his end should be known to the countrymen. None of the previous governments took steps to retrieve vital evidence connected to his death from foreign countries especially Russia," said Abbas Ali, a second World War captain and member of Indian National Army formed by Bose in 1942.
94-year-old war veteran also rued the treatment meted out to the freedom fighters in the country.
Abbas rejected the move of tokenism and demanded justice for the country's "greatest freedom fighter".
"The soul of our beloved leader will not be at peace simply on the basis of tokenism," he said.
