UP: 3 killed in house collapse due to rains

Three persons were today killed when a house collapsed following heavy downpour in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh as heavy rains and thundershowers were witnessed in isolated places of the state.
Two women were among the three persons killed as a 'kutcha' house collapsed in Fagoora village under Safdarganj police station area, police said.
Moderate to heavy rains/thundershowers occurred at a few places over east UP and at most places over west UP, the MeT office said.
While 15 cm was the chief amount of rainfall recorded in Fatehpur and Mathura, Baheri witnessed 13 cm, Palliakalan 12 cm, Aonla 11 cm, Barabanki, Thakurdwara 10 cm each, Moradabad, Siroligausspur 9 cm each, Lakhimpur Kheri, Elgin bridge 8 cm each, Balrampur and Puranpur 7 cm each.
With heavy rains, river Sharda in Palia Kalan was rising dangerously and touching the red mark.
Rain/thundershowers would occur at few places over east UP and at isolated places over west UP with heavy rainfall likely at isolated places over east UP next week, the MeT forecast said.
