The state Cabinet, in a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, decided to lease out four sugar mills of the UP sugar mill corporation to private investors, an official release issued here said.
The mills which will be leased out for a long-term period (30 years) are Maholi, Budhwal, Chata and Nandganj, it added.
The investors will have to enhance the capacity or set up the new mill, set up distillery of 30 kilolitre capacity and plant of minimum 10 MG co-generation, the release said, adding that besides the investor will be free to set up stock yard or allied industry and run them.
In another important decision, the Cabinet decided to revert 64 engineers of irrigation and water resources department promoted after November 15, 1997 and before April 28, 2012 by availing reservation in promotion or consequential seniority.

This decision has been taken in compliance with the Supreme Court orders.
The Cabinet also decided to do away with anomaly in the salary structure and allowance of teachers of King George's Medical University (KGMU), bringing them at par with the SGPGI.
Besides, the Cabinet accepted the new pay structure proposed for KGMU, following which the salary and allowances of its doctors will be at par with the SGPGI, the release said, adding that the Chief Minister had earlier made a promise in this regard.
