UP CM announces Rs 10 lakh ex gratia to lawyer's family

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has announced an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the lawyer who was killed in a clash with policemen in Allahabad today, and directed the officials to take strict action against the culprits.
The lawyers of Oudh Bar Association have decided to abstain from work tomorrow in protest against the killing of the lawyer.
An official statement here said that Yadav has expressed profound grief over the death of the lawyer in Allahabad and has announced an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the family of the deceased.
The chief minister has also directed the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police of Allahabad to take strict action against the culprits.
Meanwhile, the lawyers of Oudh Bar Association (OBA) have decided to abstain from work on March 12 in protest against the killing.
This resolution was passed in a meeting of executive committee held under chairmanship of president Amitabh Mishra. OBA general secretary Ramesh Pandey said that the EC expressed its serious concern on the issue and condemn the incident in strong terms.
The future course of action shall be decided in the next meeting of executive committee (EC) of OBA tomorrow, he said.
