UP CM for stoppage of express train at Bateshwar station
Press Trust of India Lucknow Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today wrote to Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu urging him to esure stoppage of the Mumbai Bandra Terminus- Ghazipur City express train at Bateshwar in Agra.
"The stoppage of the train (19041-up and 19042-down) at this station will not only facilitate local passengers but also the Jain community, who come here for pilgrimage at famous temple at Shauripur, which is situated in Bateshwar, about 80 km from Agra," Adityanath said in a letter to Prabhu.
Bateshwar is also the ancestral village of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said, adding that local MLA Pakshalika Singh had also requested for the stoppage of train.
The weekly express runs between Ghazipur city and Mumbai Bandra Terminus, covering a distance of 1922 kms. While there are 296 intermediate stations along the route, the train at present halts at 25.
