Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday stressed for making people aware of preventive and precautionary steps to curb the spread of coronavirus and to upgrade the treatment facilities for it in the state.
In a meeting with his cabinet colleagues at his official residence, the chief minister also asked ministers to assess the damage to farmers' corps in recent rains and hailstorm in the state.
"People should be made aware about coronavirus. Prevention is its cure and by exercising precautions, we can save ourselves from this disease. Corona awareness should be done through Mukhayamantri Aarogya Mela," an official statement quoted the chief minister as telling ministers in the meeting.
"Posters pertaining to coronavirus should be put up at centres, which come under basic education, secondary education, higher education, vocational education and skill development," he said.
The statement said the ministers were also told by the chief minister to review the preventive steps and treatment facilities of corona, besides assessing the loss due to the excessive rains and hailstorm and relief distribution in their respective districts of which they have been made in-charge.
Adityanath also said the affected farmers should be given compensation.
