The party had earlier distributed over 400 invitations for the event which was to be held at a prominent hotel here.
"The roza-iftar programme which was scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled," Congress leader Dwijendra Tripathi told PTI.
No official reason was cited for the cancellation.
However party sources indicated that the decision could have been taken as the party's UP incharge Ghulam Nabi Azad would have been unable to turn up for the event due to his engagements in Delhi in the wake of the presidential polls.
