Uttar Pradesh government today constituted a judicial commission to probe charges of irregularities, misuse of post and corruption against former Noida engineer-in-chief Yadav Singh.
The commission, headed by retired justice A N Verma, has been given six months to complete the probe, an official spokesman said.
UP government had suspended Singh after an income tax raid at his residence last year unearthed crores in cash and jewellery.
The I-T department reportedly recovered diamonds worth Rs 100 crore, Rs 10 crore in cash and around 2 kgs of gold from the residence of Yadav Singh who is said to have had close links with politicians and bureaucrats.
Singh also came under the scanner of Special Investigation Team (SIT) on black money as it asked the CBDT to share information with ED so that money laundering charges could be pressed against him and his associates.
