Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya today blamed opposition parties for the violence in Uttar Pradesh yesterday and warned that those spreading anarchy won't be spared.

Large-scale violence was reported in UP yesterday which left two people dead and over 70 others injured during the Dalit protests.

"BSP, SP and Congress are working behind the scenes to spread anarchy in the state. It's not right... Stern action will be taken against all those indulging in such acts," Maurya said while speaking at a function here.

"What is the relevance of the bandh? Why do you want to spread anarchy? Who were the ones who had come out (and indulged in violence)? They were from the BSP, SP, and Congress," he said.

Maurya also flayed BSP chief Mayawati for blaming the anti-social elements for violence.

"They have purposely tried to spoil the atmosphere in the state," said Maurya.
