UP DM donates his 15-day salary to CM's relief fund
Press Trust of India Lucknow District Magistrate of Barabanki Yogeshwar Ram Mishra has announced to donate his 15-day salary to the chief minister's relief fund for farmers affected by recent rains and hailstorms in the state.
The DM also appealed to the district officials to donate their one day salary to the CM's relief fund, so that at least Rs one crore could be donated.
The DM's announcement came a day after UP Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav announced to donate his one month's salary to the CM's relief fund for farmers who suffered losses due to unseasonal rains, appealing all ministers, SP legislators and officials to do the same.
Around 33 per cent crop loss has been estimated due to the calamity affecting around 4.22 lakh farmers in Barabanki district, the DM said, adding that Rs 101 crore has been requested from the government as relief.
