Two persons died today in Auraiya district in an incident of house collapse.
The relief commissioner office said a total population of over 17 lakh has been affected by the floods. Over 1,000 villages are adversely hit and people have been displaced.
NDRF and PAC teams are conducting relief and rescue operations, and camps have been set up in affected districts including Ballia, Allahabad, Ghazipur and others, to provide food and shelter to the affected people.
Sharda at Palia Kalan (Lakhimpur), Ghaghra at Turtipar (Ballia) Budhi Rapti at Kakrahi (Siddharth Nagar) and Quano at Chandradeepghat (Gonda) are also flowing above the red mark.
According to the MeT office, Sidhauli received the maximum 7 cm of rainfall in the state, followed by Aligarh and Varanasi 6 each, Kunda (Pratapgarh), Ayodhya, Ghazipur and Jaunpur 5 each, and Turtipar (Ballia), Malihabad (Lucknow), Allahabad, Mathura and Agra 4 cm each.
