The Uttar Pradesh government today cancelled the transfer of two senior IAS officers, within a week after they were shifted for alleged delay in completion of developmental projects, with BJP taking a jibe at the SP government for its "indecisiveness".
"Transfer of Principal Secretary (housing) Sadakant and Principal Secretary (infrastructure and industrial development) Sanjeev Saran has been cancelled," an official spokesman said here.
On September 18, Sadakant was transferred as Divisional Commissioner Basti and Saran was made Commissioner of Devipatan division.
Earlier today, Akhilesh expressed displeasure over lack of expected progress in various projects in Lucknow city.
The chief minister had also said that if the two officers were committed to complete the work then cancellation of their transfer could be considered.
While fixing completion date for various projects, the CM said that the officers have been warned that the progress in the work was dissatisfactory.

Meanwhile, taking a dig, BJP said that the Akhilesh government was confused even on taking action in cases of laxity in development works.
Party spokesman, Vijay Bahadur Pathak, alleged that the government was making public expression on things which were part of its internal process.
"It is good that the CM has issued warning to the officers responsible for development works in Lucknow, but does it take transfer as punishment. Then why it is required to say that if these officers were committed to complete the works then cancellation of their transfer could be considered by issuing a public release," he asked.
The spokesman alleged that the government was in a state of "indecisiveness".
